Ultra dark in tone with a super complex wash. Even greater variety comes from the multi-cup technology (patents pending) and a new alloy.
- Play multiple points for a variety of ride and crash tones.
- Play the small buttons for multiple unique stick tones.
- The ending washing is complex and deep without being gong-like.
- Create giant "wall of sound" phrases by moving upward from Indigo™ cymbals into higher or brighter
cymbals.
Indigo™ Button crashes
- Super Dark attack with a silvery sweep
- Hammered "buttons" for woody stick FX
- NO screeching overtones or humming undertones.
- Very Tough Patent Pending Alloy
Indigo crashes feature small microcups we call "buttons". These buttons are created through hammering and alter the grain structure dramatically at the area around the button. By adding these off center microcups around the main cup the general crash tone is mellowed. No harsh mids will stand out in your Indigo crashes.
The buttons also provide a variety of complex bell sounds and stick FX. Indigo crashes are hammered and tempered with a smooth, rich, and dark sound in mind. They have very mellow highs with a silvery mid sweep. The main cup in Indigo™ crashes is not a loud piercing bell. It is rather designed to add richness and loudness to the overall crash. Bell sounds in Indigo crashes tend to integrate with the cymbal as a whole, although the buttons do allow for woody stick sounds.
Another technical breakthrough is the near elimination of the "hum note" or low "ooh" sound heard in most cymbals. The fundamentals of Indigo are so low and soft that they won't interfere with vocals or chords. Indigo crashes are made from our patent pending alloy and are very tough so they can be played quite hard and can open up to a surprising loudness if needed. Each size of Indigo crashes have a different number of microcup buttons. The 16" has 3 buttons, the 18" has 5 buttons, and the 20" has 7 buttons.
MULTIPLE PATENTS PENDING
Indigo™ Oval Dark Crash
The size of this hand hammered bronze cymbal is a 24" x 20" oval. It features 2 microcup "buttons", a large oval cup, and a hand hammered logo. The oval shape, in combination with special hammering methods and a patent-pending alloy result in a profoundly dark sounding cymbal.
" I can honestly say this is the darkest cymbal I have ever heard" says John Stannard, Hammerax™ president. "It also has a very wide volume range- from quiet to extremely loud. Fade is fairly fast for a large cymbal so this is not all a gong-like and certainly not a china sound. It is really a crash but simply much deeper. This new voice continues to extend the low end range of the drummers color palette. " The 24x20Oval plays well with sticks mallets and works very well with hand crashing. Drummers can ride the bell and rake the buttons but this cymbal swells quite easily so it is not a true ride.
At 1770 grams, the cymbal is thin and light. The cup produces a dark, integrated sound which is very complex, but not bell-like. Like most Hammerax™ cymbals it comes with 3 polished holes for removable sizzles.
