Hammerax Ultraviolet Cymbals Sing with Rich Highs
Clearwater, FL, May 2nd, 2011
Hammerax has released a line of USA made cymbals with breathtaking highs and a super balanced wash. They are available in various sizes including splashes in 9”, 12”, crashes in 16”, 18”, 21” and 24”. Ultraviolet Hi hats are available in 15″ and 13″ sizes as well.
“Since the Ultraviolet brand is the first bright sounding cymbal brand from Hammerax, the goal was to create an ultra premium sound, reminiscent of the finest European cymbals – bright and loud when needed, yet colorful and rich”, said Hammerax President John Stannard. “We had to set the bar very high and the reaction at trade shows and live has been superb.”
The 21″ and 24″ crash rides are so complex they sound as if they have sizzles. The 18″ crash is astoundingly colorful and bright. The 24″, 21″ and 18″ have a great “ping” in the cup and the 16″ crash is very fast, yet bright. 12″ and 9″ Ultraviolet splashes are crisp, complex, and brilliant- some of the brightest and richest on the market. Ultraviolet Hi hats are 15″ and 13″ are powerful, rich and bright.
All Ultraviolet cymbals are designed for a wide range of volumes- from a whispering sizzling ride sound to a cutting crash. Hammerax often suggests that drummers try mixing bright and dark sounds in the same kit. The total color and volume can really increase by doing this.
Ultraviolet cymbals carry a very reasonable price considering the handmade quality.

Hammerax Feather – super light and fast cymbals
Clearwater, Fl April 22, 2011
Hammerax has released the Feather brand cymbal line. They are precise, fast and dark and are among the lightest, fastest 18″ cymbals ever produced.
“These cymbals represent a leap forward in cymbal metallurgy-the weight and tone are surprising”, said John Stannard, Hammerax president. “Smooth, dark, and fast was the goal, and everyone who has heard them is very surprised and pleased with the result.” A patent pending bronze super alloy provides an ultra fast sound.
The Feather brand line of cymbals include the 18″ China in one weight- micro thin (747 grams) and the18″ Crashes in 2 weights- Paper thin (910 grams) and Micro thin (747 grams) This places them at a little over half of the weight of an average 18” crash.
The 18″ Paper Thin is slightly brighter and the 18″ Micro thin China and Crash are slightly faster and darker. The crashes have a smooth sound, while the china sends out an aggressive blast.
Feather brand cymbals have a dark sound but are capable of substantial
volume, considering the lightness of their weight. They open up very easily to a dark rising swell.

Hammerax Ultraloud HellBell Cymbal Brand Expands
Hammerax has announced the expansion of its US made HellBell brand line to include cymbals weighted for more aggressive crashes and clear bell tones. The line will now include 16”, 18”, 21”, and 24” cymbals, as well as 16” and 18” hi-hats branded HellHat. The new patent pending multi-cups will dramatically increase volume and create aggressive bell and crash tones.
The 24” HellBell features a startling, 11” negative cup with an added, upward center cup, resulting in one of the loudest cymbals ever created. The two cups together create two distinct bell sounds. The 24” HellBell brand cymbal exceeds even the Hammerax 24” Whipcrash® Ultra in loudness. “Measured at a loudness of 126 Db, the 24” HellBell cymbal is literally a giant in sound- possibly the loudest cymbal on earth. Hearing protection should be used if these cymbals are crashed often,” said John Stannard, Hammerax President.
The 21” and 24” can serve as crashrides. Considering their size, the 21” and 24” would actually be considered thin, at 1996 grams and 2600 grams, respectively.
Hammerax has also announced the new 16” and 18” hi-hat, branded HellHat. This is an expansion of its USA made HellBell brand line. HellHat brand hi-hats are rather thin, by hi-hat standards, but very loud. The HellBell style negative cup and a positive center cup create an aggressive bell sound and allows for raking and one-handed rolls. By hitting the edge of the negative cup a very rich and loud bell sound rings out.
HellHat features switchable tops and bottoms and can also be separated into two individual cymbals. “Since hi-hats carry the cost of two cymbals, we thought it was a good idea to allow the option of reversing tops versus bottoms. The pairs are voiced far enough apart to create a beautiful mix.”, said John Stannard, President of Hammerax. Another option is to use each cymbal as a separate crash. Where most hi-hat bottom are not musical, both halves of the HellHat are quite useful. The combination of the negative and positive cups yields a sound unlike any china or crash. The result is aggressive, yet designed for raw beauty.

Hammerax Nice Brand Heavy Cymbals Launched
Clearwater, Fl November 22, 2010
Hammerax has released a line of loud, brilliant bell cymbals, designed for mounting independently, or “upside down” above cymbals. The bells are available in 6”, 7”, 8”, and 9.5”.
When mounted in the “upside down mode”, Nice brand allow plenty of room to hit the bell of the large cymbal below due to the deep shape.
Virtually all prior small bells on the market were just pressed cups with a flat edge. Nice cymbals feature deeply hammered grooves instead of lathe grooves. “These deep grooves add bright color to the sound… the main goal here was to create a pure sound which can cut through in many styles of music. This is not a mere cup but a true cymbal – formed completely by hammering. The weight is very heavy but the tone is pure with a long sustain, if struck hard”, said John Stannard, Hammerax president. “We aimed right from the start for the Nice brand to be more than just a pressed cup. We knew it had to have a proper bow and center cup. We tested many different profiles and cup combinations to get the best tone.” Nice cymbals can also be mounted individually, or even opposing each other, two at a time or stacked like a bell tree with felts as separators.
Nice cymbals are already on tour with several major acts- mostly notably Robert Plant’s Band of Joy with Marco Giovino on drums. Another great feature of Nice is the pricing. “These instruments are priced at very reasonable points considering the true handmade cymbal quality,” says Stannard.
