Nir Nakav has been playing the drums since the tender age of 5. Although he was originally classically trained, Nir showed a tendency for the dark arts early on. Nir graduated from M.I. Hollywood with honors as the style specialist of the year and has been playing professionally ever since.
He is most recognized for his work with Israel's premier metal act, Salem, with whom he released 4 albums and 2 live DVDs. Nir also teaches music at one of the best music colleges in the country, the prestigious Rimon school of Jazz and contemporary music and writes a column regularly for Sick Drummer Magazine.
