Andrew McAuleyAndrew McAuley is a professional drummer, percussionist, composer, and educator known for his outside-of-the-box approach to drumming. His belief is that everyone should try to discover their own unique voice and phrasing on their instrument...an ongoing process that never truly ends. Andrew started drumming under the late Al Miller and later, private instructor Scott Foley. After a few years of playing without a teacher, he began studying under Billy Martin in 2000 and was inspired to pursue studies at the world renowned Drummers Collective in 2001. There, he studied under such master musicians as Michael Lauren, Kim Plainfield, Bob Quaranta, Mike Pope, Peter Retzlaff, Frank Katz, Fred Klatz, Memo Acevedo, Adriano Santos, and countless others. After completing studies at The Collective, Andrew continued to grow on the instrument under Billy Martin's tutelage and later began studying with one of Billy's old mentors, world renowned percussionist Cyro Baptista (Herbie Hancock, Sting, Paul Simon, John Zorn). To date, Andrew has performed and/or recorded with Billy Martin, Cyro Baptista, Terry Bozzio, and singer/actress Colleen Rennison. He has also started a free online mixtape series dedicated to drums and percussion entitled "Heavy In The Beats" and has recently launched www.kindbeatsdrums.com, a site dedicated to giving the drummer some. It features free lessons, videos, music, and a drum forum, as well as a free global networking section for ALL musicians - a place to discover new artists to both listen to and collaborate with!"
